Victoria Park Centre for the Arts:
Our philosophy: To provide people of all ages, cultures and economic backgrounds with a supportive, cooperative environment in which they can appreciate and present art. The centre is guided by the principles of social justice, access and equity which include: respect for people’s rights and choices, fairness, trust, community development, self help, human rights and non-discrimination.
The Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is a 1940′s quaint weatherboard building which is a characteristic of the area. The building has been developed into a facility, which provides for local community cultural needs with exhibition area, craft shop, meeting room and management office. Our new studio building accessible via decking is built as a workshop/teaching space, darkroom, storeroom and kitchen with large bi fold doors that open for views of the garden and art installations.
The centre has been modified by design for disability access and inclusion, receiving the ‘Access Commendation’ in the Town of Victoria Park’s 2006 Enhanced Access Awards.’
Situated close to Albany Highway and on main bus routes, the Centre is conveniently located. It is close to many amenities such as the Park Centre Shopping Centre, the Victoria Park Library and the Park Recreation Centre.
