About The Belmont Camera Club Inc.
“Excellence Through Perseverance”
The Belmont Camera Club (BCC) consists of an affiliation of people with a common interest in photography who are keen to promote photography, in all of its facets, as an art form. We encourage our members to push the boundaries of convention & to dare to be different. Photography is a great way to express yourself.
The membership varies greatly, from raw beginners to professionals (including artists) & the club promotes all facets of photography from traditional film (black & white, colour transparency & colour negative) to digital & even to the very beginnings of the photographic process – pinhole photography.
We meet bi-monthly on the
- 2nd. Thursday of the month at 7:30pm & the
- 4th .Sunday at 1:30pm. at The Victoria Park Centre for the Arts, 12 Kent Street, East Victoria Park.
We try to make our syllabus as interesting as possible with a variety of subjects & outings throughout the year.
BCC is affiliated with The Western Australian Photographic Federation (WAPF) which is an organization of Camera Clubs throughout Western Australia. The WAPF promotes competition between affiliated clubs & their members. Basically there are two WAPF competitions per year – The Members’ Exhibition, where photographers compete on an individual basis, & The Interclub Competition, which is a competition between clubs. The Members’ Exhibition & The Interclub Competition have recently been combined so that they now occur concurrently. These two competitions are hotly contested & provide a very good forum to gauge your progress as a photographer.
